Job summary

Legend Brands is seeking a Manufacturing Technology Manager to lead launches, optimize tooling and methods, and drive shop-floor improvements across its plastics operations.

You will translate complex manufacturing problems into actionable projects, mentor Plastics Process Engineers, and coordinate with cross‑functional teams to improve capacity, throughput and product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/related field.
• 7+ years leadership in technical environment.
• Experience evaluating capacity, cycle time, costs, and capital justification.
• Experience with plastics injection molding and roto molding preferred.
• Strong communication across staff levels; Six Sigma/Lean knowledge.
• Able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead launch of new/revised products including tooling and methods.
• Troubleshoot assembly issues; identify root causes; implement fixes.
• Lead and execute engineering projects with team.
• Design equipment layouts for max efficiency and flow.
• Develop and evaluate department personnel; set expectations.
• Lead plastics process engineering: development, tooling validation, optimization.
• Provide hands-on leadership to Plastics Process Engineers; reduce scrap and boost throughput.
• Maintain project backlog with owners and milestones.
• Participate in Tier Meetings with cross-functional team to resolve issues.
• Communicate project status, risks, and escalations.
• Develop team capabilities and cross-training.
• Perform other related duties.

Essential Duties:

• Lead manufacturing launch of new and revised products including tooling, equipment, methods and shop floor support
• With the team and through personal contributions, troubleshoot manufacturing assembly and assembly problems, identify root causes and implement corrective actions that prevent recurrence
• Lead and execute engineering projects through direct contribution and through team members
• Design and implement the layout of equipment and workstations to ensure maximum efficiency and product flow
• Select, develop, coach and evaluate department personnel, establishing clear expectations and hold accountable for results
• Lead plastics process engineering activities, including process development, tooling qualification, validation, and optimization, to ensure safe, consistent, and cost-effective production of plastic components
• Provide hands‑on technical leadership to Plastics Process Engineers in troubleshooting molding issues, establishing process parameters and standards, and implementing improvements that reduce scrap, improve quality, and increase throughput
• Maintain and prioritize project backlog with defined owners, milestones, and completion dates.
• Actively involved in Tier Meetings, working with a cross‑functional team to resolve technical manufacturing issues
• Communicate project status, resource constraints, risks, and decisions requiring escalation
• Develop team capabilities and enhance cross‑training to reduce dependence on individual technical experts
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering/Technology, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or directly related field required
• Minimum seven years' proven leadership experience in a technical environment required
• Ability to evaluate capacity, cycle time, manufacturing costs, and capital project justification
• Experience with plastics injection molding and roto molding preferred
• Strong communication skills with all levels of staff
• Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean practices
• Skilled in budget preparation
• Ability to communicate technical items to non-technical personnel
• Ability to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.

Hiring Range:Between $120,000 - $138,000/year
