Qnity Electronics in Newark, Delaware, is seeking a highly motivated Technical Area Manager to lead technical execution and drive continuous improvement in a manufacturing area. You will partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Engineering to enhance safety, quality, reliability, and performance, while developing technical talent and achieving business growth.

This 100% onsite role requires leading engineers, delivering data-driven solutions, and aligning site priorities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of industrial manufacturing experience in a technical engineering role.
  • Six Sigma Certification.
  • Experience with process control, root cause analysis, statistical analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive measurable operational results.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Process Engineers and Equipment Engineers, building technical capability and fostering ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Drive process stability, capability, yield improvement, and scrap reduction using data-driven methods.
  • Champion safe operating environment by supporting Process Safety Management and corrective actions after incidents.
  • Serve as technical lead for process, equipment, and customer quality issues with root-cause analysis.
  • Lead MRB activities, cycle time reduction, and process improvement projects.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Commercial teams to drive productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Translate business objectives into actionable technical execution plans for throughput and backlog reduction.
  • Drive continuous improvement and Kaizen, ensuring sustainable solutions.
  • Support capital projects and reliability improvements to boost manufacturing performance.
  • Build connections across the organization by coaching teams and fostering proactive problem-solving.

Position Summary

Qnity Electronics is seeking a highly motivated Technical Area Manager to lead technical execution, process stability, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing area. This role partners closely with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to improve safety, quality, reliability, and operational performance. The Technical Area Manager is responsible for developing technical talent, driving process capability improvements, and executing initiatives that support business growth, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.

This is a 100% onsite position located in our Newark, Delaware facility .

What You Will Do

  • Lead and develop a team of Process Engineers and Equipment Engineers, building technical capability and fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Drive process stability, capability, yield improvement, and scrap reduction through data-driven problem solving, statistical process control, and operational discipline.

  • Champion a safe and reliable operating environment by supporting Process Safety Management (PSM), reinforcing critical safety standards, and driving sustainable corrective actions following incidents.

  • Serve as the technical lead for process, equipment, and customer quality issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing effective solutions.

  • Lead Material Review Board (MRB) activities, cycle time reduction initiatives, and process improvement projects that enhance product quality, throughput, and reliability.

  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Commercial teams to identify opportunities and deliver improvements in productivity, customer satisfaction, and business performance.

  • Translate business objectives and site priorities into actionable technical execution plans that support throughput, yield, backlog reduction, and operational excellence goals.

  • Drive continuous improvement and Kaizen initiatives, ensuring solutions are standardized, sustainable, and aligned with long‑term operational needs.

  • Support capital projects, process optimization efforts, and reliability improvements that increase manufacturing performance and consistency.

  • Build strong connections across the organization by coaching teams, developing problem-solving capabilities, and creating an environment where employees proactively solve challenges at the source.

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • 5+ years of industrial manufacturing experience in a technical engineering, process engineering, or manufacturing engineering role.

  • Six Sigma Certification.

  • Experience with process control, root cause analysis, statistical analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive measurable operational results.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and problem‑solving skills.

  • Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership abilities.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Commitment to safety, quality, customer focus, innovation, and teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading Process Engineers, Equipment Engineers, or other technical teams.

  • Experience in semiconductor, electronics, specialty chemicals, advanced materials, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.

  • Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or additional Continuous Improvement certifications.

  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and operational excellence systems.

  • Experience supporting capital projects, equipment reliability programs, and manufacturing process optimization.

  • Proficiency with SPC, DOE, Minitab, or other statistical and process analysis tools.

  • Demonstrated success improving yield, throughput, scrap reduction, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
