Curtiss-Wright Steam & Air Solutions (SAS), a business unit of Curtiss-Wright, designs, manufactures, tests, and provides Navy steam turbines, steam valves, nuclear steam turbines, and aftermarket steam parts, upgrades, and overhauls.

Located in Summerville, SC, this state-of-the-art facility spans approximately 134,000 square feet, dedicated to manufacturing activities such as machining, welding, assembly, and quality inspections.

We are seeking to add Manufacturing Technicians/Assemblers to all 3 shifts at our new Summerville, SC (Charleston) facility. The role involves performing assembly, sub-assembly, small machining, testing, fitting, disassembly, and related tasks on components like steam turbines, valves, and compressors.

This is a great opportunity for individuals with a strong machining background to support the U.S. Navy and commercial customers.

Your Challenge:

• Read and interpret work instructions and drawings
• Test steam turbines and valves
• Collaborate with engineers to resolve issues
• Operate hydrostatic test pumps and machining tools
• Set up work areas and machines
• Fit, scrape, adjust, lap, paint, and assemble components
• Follow operational procedures for assembly and testing
• Work with tight tolerances and conduct inspections
• Train less experienced personnel
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Your Expertise:

• Ability to operate steam boilers and machine tools
• Experience reading blueprints and process worksheets
• Experience with various hand and bench tools
• Knowledge of measurement instruments and testing equipment
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Steam equipment operation experience is a plus
• Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a DOD security clearance
