Job description

Purpose and Scope:

This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. The purpose of the position is to provide support to the Manufacturing Engineering Department. This position requires excellent attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills. Applicants must be good problem solvers, focused on effectiveness, organized, flexible, self-directed, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to manage change and frequent interruptions is vital.

Shifts:

  • 1st Shift: M-F 6am-3pm
  • 2nd Shift: M-F 2pm-11pm

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze inspection methods/plans to develop consistent results between manufacturing floor and inspection with support from M.E. team.
  • Coordinate evaluation and disposition of non-conforming product.
  • Develop rework instructions for non-conforming product with team support.
  • Participate in identifying root causes and corrective actions for non-conforming product.
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of information entered into MRP system, working with support functions.
  • Prepare data in formats suitable for analysis, e.g., PivotTables and Pivot Charts.
  • Interface with internal contacts regarding material reports, enter data as prescribed, and organize/prioritize engineering work.
  • Improve routing instructions using current manufacturing practices.
  • Use MRP system to enter and retrieve data for analysis.
  • Create, modify, and format engineering documents including bulletins, procedures, and change notices.
  • Develop plans to prioritize and organize workload.
  • Maintain stock of area supplies.
  • Prepare responses to routine inquiries.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree in a technical field or high school diploma/GED with at least 2 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Proficiency in complex spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation tools with high quality.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T), metrology, and inspection methods.
  • Excellent command of English grammar, punctuation, and business document formatting.
  • Manufacturing environment experience is required.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability to multitask in a demanding environment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Willingness to work extra hours as needed.
  • Physical requirements include bending, squatting, sitting, standing, walking, handling objects, pushing/pulling, reaching, and lifting up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent.
