The microwave technician will be responsible for the Thin Film tuning, aligning, troubleshooting, and final testing of microwave components, subsystems, and integrated assemblies. Most of the components operate in the 500 MHz to 26 GHz frequency range, with some special products up to 50 GHz. A strong knowledge of microwave test equipment such as scalar and network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, noise figure meters, and digital scopes is required. Most work is performed under a microscope using specialized handmade tools and probes, with some mechanical assembly involved. Technicians should become proficient with ball bonders, soldering irons, and gap welders, and may work with engineers on new product releases or troubleshooting.
Good hand-eye coordination, clear communication skills, and the ability to follow written instructions, processes, and procedures are essential. Candidates should have completed Electronic AC & DC theory and basic electronics, with an excellent understanding of electronic theory.
Minimum qualifications:
Salary Range: $49,300.00 - $65,700.00
