Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Technician – Level 3 at the Clearfield, UT site. The role supports our Aeronautics Systems sector with hands-on fabrication, precision drilling, and assembly work, requiring strong attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.

The position may involve multiple shifts including nights and weekends with shift differential. Prior experience in aerospace manufacturing and ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret clearance are preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand blueprints.
  • Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies including drilling, countersinking, and using calibrated tools.
  • Align parts on jigs using templates and fixtures.
  • Perform part-fitting operations: filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, riveting, drilling, and reaming.
  • Measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
  • Modify assemblies to incorporate changes and verify quality per control procedures.
  • Daily use of manufacturing shop controls and systems.
  • Wear appropriate PPE on the shop floor.
  • Suggest improvements in production methods, equipment performance, and teamwork.

In this position, you will join our Manufacturing Operations Organization within our Aeronautics Systems sector as a Manufacturing Technician – Level 3 supporting our Clearfield, UT site. We’re seeking a hands‑on professional with exceptional attention to detail, a strong commitment to quality, and outstanding interpersonal skills.

This position may be filled at varying shift times including weekdays, nights, and weekends (shift differential paid during eligible shifts).

Please note: Only external candidates and NG employees who are not currently Manufacturing Techs at the Clearfield site may be considered under this requisition.

Essential Functions
  • Read and understand blueprints
  • Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools
  • Align parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
  • Perform part‑fitting operations: filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming
  • Measure parts with precision tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
  • May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
  • Daily usage of manufacturing shop controls and systems
  • Use of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance, and team effectiveness
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 4 years of experience in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment
  • Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work, including bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 35 pounds, working overhead or at heights, and accessing small, confined spaces
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs. U.S. Citizenship required for clearance.
  • Successfully complete and pass the “ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance” within a reasonable time period, as defined by the company to meet its business need
  • Ability to work any shift
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current/active U.S. Government Secret level clearance
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing
Salary

Primary Level Salary Range: $52,700.00 – $87,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
