**Day and Nights available** The role will start on a M-F initially for the first 6-9 months supporting project work. It will transition to a 12 hr. (6am-6pm) or (6pm-6am) 2-2-3 (2 on, 2 off, every other weekend) schedule as the normal shift.

Brief Job Description
The Mechanic Technician is a direct labor position reporting to a Manager/Supervisor on the Manufacturing floor, supporting Inspection operations. The role involves setup, changeover, repairs, and preventative maintenance for all equipment used in production, and may include serving as an Inspection Technician. It requires mechanical and electronic troubleshooting skills to ensure equipment performance. The Mechanic Technician will also provide basic mechanical training to Inspection Technicians and support continuous improvement projects.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on inspection equipment.
  • Collaborate with technical resources to resolve equipment issues.
  • Provide technical support to production technicians, including equipment start-up, recipe setup, sensor troubleshooting, and addressing production issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and identify abnormal conditions to prevent downtime.
  • Perform technician tasks such as start-up, operation, inspection, material handling, rework, cleaning, and line clearance.
  • Safely operate light material handling equipment.
  • Monitor material quality and escalate concerns.
  • Complete batch records, GMP documentation, and CMMS entries; perform calculations as needed.
  • Follow safety procedures, report discrepancies, and adhere to SOPs and cGMPs.
Other Responsibilities
  • Support lean activities, process improvements, and problem-solving.
  • Act as a certified OJT trainer, evaluate team members, and review process documents for accuracy.
  • Assist with equipment qualification and process validation protocols.
  • Support other work areas as needed and perform duties with minimal supervision.

Minimum Requirements
  • Experience in a regulated production environment, focusing on equipment maintenance and performance.
  • Ability to read, write, communicate, and follow instructions in English.
  • Ability to handle equipment parts and materials physically.
Preferred Background
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or engineering background preferred.
  • At least three years of experience in a regulated environment with equipment maintenance.
  • Experience with automated equipment, hydraulics, electronics, and systems like SAP.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as OEE, TPM, or LEAN.
