Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is seeking a Manufacturing Technician II (Harness) for the 1st shift. The shift hours are 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime and mandatory hours.
The pay rate is $16.00 per hour, with a $1/hour increase for 2nd shift. Salary depends on skills, experience, and market considerations.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, fit, and mount sub-assemblies, components, and fixed assemblies in motor control centers, control panels, and related assemblies.
- Perform assembly for testing and final inspection, wire units, and fabricate harnesses and power leads.
- Use electrical testing procedures to verify assembly integrity and stage parts for orders.
Key Tasks
- Follow instructions from supervision, prints, and wiring diagrams.
- Determine needed parts, write requisitions, and obtain materials.
- Read shop orders and drawings to determine assembly procedures.
- Assemble and wire control devices, adjust for proper alignment, and install units and bus work.
- Create wiring harnesses using pre-cable boards and crimp lugs, connect wires, and make soldered connections.
- Modify assemblies, perform wiring changes, and make mechanical repairs as needed.
- Operate overhead cranes to move units and components.
- Maintain quality standards, record keeping, and identify work with labels and tags.
- Follow safety protocols, keep work areas clean, and stage components efficiently.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Reside within 50 miles of the work location.
Preferred
- At least 3 months of manufacturing experience.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
Skills
- Teamwork and effective communication.
- Flexible work hours and overtime availability.
- Understanding of wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Proficiency with hand tools and assembly in a lean environment.
- Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
- Physical ability to stand, lift up to 35 pounds, and perform detailed visual inspections.
