Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking a MFG Technician II in Kirkland, WA to join the scale-up of the Leo satellite program. You will follow work instructions, assemble and test LRUs and avionics with precision, read engineering drawings, and collaborate with manufacturing engineers to improve processes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow work instructions and safety procedures
• Assemble and test with emphasis to detail an assortment of LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds
• Use precision calibrated tools - torque wrenches, multimeters, optical inspection devices, micrometers and calipers
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions
• Run functional and environmental testing on units
• Use computer software programs for conducting tests
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and document activities, including continuous improvement opportunities
• Perform other related duties to ensure an efficient, safe and effective work environment

Export Control Requirement

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.

Additional Requirements

• Willing to work 4 10 hour days Sun-Wed OR Wed-Sat
• Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed. Shift will vary, depending on program needs.
• Flexible working/commuting in between site locations Redmond, WA and Kirkland, WA
• Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
• Able to lift-up to 25lbs. unassisted

The MFG Technician II will identify process improvements to improve build efficiency. You will work closely with multiple engineering teams on both early hardware development and setting the stage for later production hardware manufacturing processes. The successful candidate thrives in a fast paced, start-up like environment and are able to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills and commitment to quality to positively impact team metrics and organization goals. Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment, or relevant trade school certification
• 1+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (i.e., Calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches)
• 1+ years working with test tools and test methods that adequately validate the system
• Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawings

Preferred Qualifications

• Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) certification/license
• CFOT certification or equivalent experience
• Airman or Avionic certification or equivalent experience
• ASE certification or equivalent experience
• Experience in fast-paced production environment with flight hardware
• Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
• Experience working with Electro-Mechanical Assembly, Final Integration, Fiber Optics/Optical and/or Harness Integration
• Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment

The starting pay for this position is listed below, including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
