Job description

Raptor Scientific is a leader in advanced aerospace test and measurement technology. At our growing Livermore site, we design and build sophisticated RF measurement systems and ultra-precise pressure, force, and calibration instrumentation for Aerospace and Defense applications where performance and reliability are critical.

This is not repetitive assembly-line work. As a Manufacturing Technician II, you'll work on complex, high-mix builds that require technical skill, precision, and real problem-solving. You'll interpret drawings and schematics, troubleshoot issues, take ownership of challenging builds, and help ensure every system leaving our floor meets exacting performance and quality standards.

Our Livermore operation is expanding, creating opportunities for talented technicians to broaden their capabilities, take on greater responsibility, and grow alongside the organization. We're building a high-performance culture centered on ownership, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.

If you take pride in exceptional craftsmanship, enjoy solving real hardware challenges, and want your work to contribute to mission-critical technology, you'll find an opportunity here to make an impact and keep raising your technical game.

THE WORK
  • Assemble systems: Build complex electro-mechanical systems using engineering drawings, specifications, and clear work instructions.
  • Precision build: Use hand and power tools to complete tight-tolerance mechanical assemblies, applying high-quality soldering technique where precision matters.
  • Log details: Handle day-to-day production details including checklists, job kitting, labeling, and documentation to keep builds organized.
  • Maintain safety: Keep your assigned work area clean and safe while maintaining accurate production tracking records.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Proven experience: 3 to 6 years of stable, hands-on electro-mechanical assembly experience.
  • Technical skills: Demonstrated expertise in soldering and precision hand-tool assembly.
  • Blueprint literacy: Ability to read and accurately interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Tool proficiency: High mechanical aptitude and comfort using standard assembly hand tools and power equipment.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. An apprenticeship, formal training, or an Associate degree is preferred.
  • Desirable skills: Experience using torque wrenches or reading complex technical schematics is a plus.
WHAT MAKES YOU A FIT HERE

Technical skills get you the interview, but your mindset determines your success on our floor. We look for individuals who embody these core values:

  • Bias for Action: You do not wait for someone to walk you through every step. You read the spec, get started, and ask sharp questions when something is genuinely unclear.
  • Intellectual Curiosity: You want to understand what the assembly does, not just how to build it, so quality issues get caught before final test.
  • Clear Communication: A part does not match the print or a step does not make sense, so you say something immediately instead of pushing the problem downstream.
  • Likes to Win: Clean solder joints and precise, careful work matter to you because rework costs everyone time and you prefer to build it right the first time.
