The Manufacturing Technician will perform mechanical assembly, disassembly, and installation tasks associated with manufacturing power transformers.
Summary
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Perform manufacturing tasks such as loading and unloading machinery, operating non-CNC equipment, gluing, clamping, painting, testing, measurement, and oil filling.
- Assemble or disassemble parts or units; align and fasten units using hand and power tools per specifications.
- Measure and adjust parts with measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers.
- Inspect, verify, and document quality to meet specifications and customer requirements.
- Connect, crimp, solder, and braze internal leads and wiring using appropriate tools.
- Insulate and tape leads and wires as instructed.
- Perform electrical tests to ensure proper wiring and insulation.
- Read and interpret prints, BOMs, specifications, and instructions.
- Disassemble units for parts replacement or shipping.
- Fabricate wooden parts, fixtures, and packaging.
- Operate equipment for vacuuming, oil filling, and recovery safely.
- Maintain and lubricate parts and assemblies.
- Handle materials safely, adhering to work procedures and standards.
- Perform TPM tasks and practice 6S and safety protocols.
- Operate material handling equipment like cranes and forklifts.
- Assist in training new employees and troubleshooting issues.
- Support other manufacturing areas and management as needed.
- Follow company policies and understand quality and environmental policies.

- Preventative maintenance and TPM.
- Assist with process checks and troubleshooting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus two years’ experience, or equivalent training and experience.
- Developed mechanical or technical skills.
- Experience with hand and power tools.
- Ability to read manufacturing drawings and specifications.
- Math and practical geometry skills.
- Basic computer skills, especially MS Office.
- Knowledge of industrial measuring tools.
Physical and mental characteristics
- Ability to safely use tools and measurement devices.
- Work at heights and climb stairs.
- Inspect work and follow instructions.
- Operate powered equipment.
- Work outdoors and indoors, standing and walking for long periods.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Use PPE properly.
