Lightera Fitel, a global leader of optical fiber, cable, and assemblies is looking for Manufacturing Technicians to join our Fiber Draw department's 1st, 2nd and 3rd Shifts, and help support our business growth in Avon, CT. Lightera provides the necessary training to allow for growth in the role. We pride ourselves on our constant drive towards safety, quality, continuous improvement and commitment to our customer's needs. Lightera is a leading edge designer, manufacturer, and supplier of optical fiber and cable, and specialty fiber optic products and solutions for a wide variety of applications and industries. We have a proven track record of being first in the industry with new application specific products.

Our technicians are responsible for product flow using prints, recipes, and workmanship standards to ensure engineering and quality specifications are met. Although working under immediate supervision our technicians are expected to work independently following our pre-established guidelines. The candidate will also participate in improvement initiatives to meet department goals and/or business objectives.

Candidates for consideration must have a high school diploma, be technically savvy or has demonstrable mechanical ability. Must be comfortable working with tools and following procedures. The ability to read mechanical drawings, have basic PC skills and follow written work instructions is key. The ideal candidate will have similar manufacturing/extrusion experience, knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts and an Associate's Degree/certification from an accredited technical program.
