Job summary

Sheridan Ohio is hiring a Manufacturing Technician-Bindery for day shift (7a–7p) on a full-time basis. Join a hands-on, team-focused production environment where you will train on high-speed bindery equipment and contribute to quality outputs in books and printed materials.

Qualifications

• Must have good mechanical and organizational skills.
• Mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools.
• Ability to read basic job instructions and measurements (decimals, sizes).
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Team player with ability to lead and direct crew.
• Physically capable of loading bundles 30–100 lbs.
• Excellent attendance, punctuality, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Perform setup, operation, and maintenance of the Perfect Binder.
• Oversee performance and training of assigned crew members.
• Train Assistant Operator and other crew members.
• Delegate work and assign duties to crew members.
• Customize orders to specifications and requirements.
• Maintain quality and quantity standards.
• Complete paperwork and forms related to processes.
• May handle hazardous waste as part of daily duties.

What You’ll Do

• Perform all set up operation and maintenance of the Perfect Binder.
• Oversee the work performance and training of assigned crew members
• Training of Assistant Operator and other crew members
• Delegate/Assign work duties to assigned crew members.
• Customize orders to specifications/requirements.
• Maintain quality and quantity standards.
• Complete processes related to paperwork and forms.
• May handle hazardous waste as a part of daily job functions.
• Other duties assigned by management.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for people who:

• Have good mechanical and organizational skills.
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements (decimals, sizes, etc.)
• Have good mathematical skills
• Must be a team player and possess the ability to lead and direct crew
• Must be physically able to load bundles from 30 to 100lbs
• Excellent attendance, punctuality and dependency is a prerequisite
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It’s a plus if you have:

• 3-5 years machine operating experience
• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Basic small packaging knowledge
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
