Job Description:

The Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment of L3Harris is seeking a Manufacturing Tech B to work at our Orange, VA location. Our site near Culpeper, VA, in beautiful, rural Orange County (1.5 hours from Washington, DC) is growing! This site is our center of excellence for Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Energetics development as well as high-complexity production programs.

The Manufacturing Technician will join an exceptional cross-functional team of engineers and technicians to fabricate components and assemble them into the most advanced solid rocket systems in the world. Aerojet Rocketdyne is an industry leading supplier of missile components to the government for use in national defense. This position performs functions such as produce solid-propellant rocket fuel, clean and assembles equipment, cleans tools, parts, and work area, operates machinery and all other duties and tasks required. Maintains records for manufactured products. Works safely while producing a high quality product and maintaining a clean and orderly work area.

Essential Functions:

• Precision Assembly of complex aerospace components (60%).
• Case prep, line and cast, cure, strip, and machine solid rocket propellant (30%).
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or lead (10%).

Qualifications:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant manufacturing experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 0-2 years of prior related manufacturing experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately and quickly.
• Ability to work with management, supervisor or lead personnel to prioritize work and meet critical deadlines.
• Ability to read, interpret and understand work instructions, drawings, etc.
• Experience with precision assembly such as use of torque tooling, mix and apply adhesives, leak check testing, etc.
