Job Description

A new exciting role for a Manufacturing Technician has been created at one of Oxfordshire's most exciting companies, based in Abingdon (OX14).

Joining a small specialist manufacturing team, the role offers fantastic opportunities for training, development, and progression through the business to Senior and Lead roles in the future. The position is extremely interesting and varied, with the chance to work across mechanical, electronic, and electrical assembly, plus lasers and optics.

Manufacturing Technician Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and test complex precision sub-assemblies and assemble tools according to build and test documents.
  • Assemble cable assemblies to IPC standards IPC/WHMA-A-620.
  • Solder components according to IPC standards IPC/WHMA-A-620.
  • Identify and report manufacturing problems within the Non-Conformance process.
  • Assist the manufacturing team in maintaining and improving processes and quality.
  • Support the Manufacturing Manager in delivering products on time to customers.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness within production and cleanroom areas.
Key Requirements of Manufacturing Technician:
  • 5+ years' experience with electro-mechanical assembly in a manufacturing technician role or similar.
  • Experience building and testing complex high-technology products.
  • Experience wiring and soldering to IPC standards IPC/WHMA-A-620.
  • Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment.
  • Experience with optical systems, including lasers and fibers, electronics, or electro-mechanics, is advantageous.
