Job summary

Starbucks is seeking a manufacturing technician to support downstream packaging operations in a production environment. Schedule: Sunday-Wednesday, 9pm-7:30am, with potential changes as needed. You will operate and maintain packaging equipment, perform quality checks, and support safety and sanitation standards across the plant.

The role emphasizes reliability, precision, and teamwork in a fast-paced facility that emphasizes product quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Production or distribution experience (1 year).
  • Operation of manual and automated packaging equipment (1 year).
  • High School diploma or GED, or 4 years US military service.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal direction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and internet environments.
  • Mechanical aptitude to make minor machine adjustments and clear jams.
  • Ability to perform quality tests using analytical tools.
  • Ability to gather, record metrics on operations and quality.
  • Ability to understand written policies, guidelines and safety standards.
  • Ability to work with a diverse team environment.
  • Ability to work safely and maintain sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work variable shifts to support business needs.
  • Experience performing quality checks using analytical tools.
  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulatory requirements and GFSI standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain downstream secondary equipment.
  • Replenish raw materials on automated packaging equipment.
  • Respond to stoppages on secondary packaging equipment and troubleshoot jams.
  • Perform changeovers on secondary packaging equipment and assist with primary packaging changeovers.
  • Conduct quality checks on secondary packages including lot coding and aesthetics.
  • Assist with quality checks on primary packages including seal integrity.
  • Track output from palletizing equipment and respond to jams.
  • Operate the supersack loading station.
  • Follow safety guidelines and reinforce safety values.
  • Support food safety, legality and quality programs.
  • Maintain product quality via GMPs and quality procedures.
  • Perform other duties to support business objectives and Starbucks Mission & Values.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.

As a manufacturing technician, you will:
  • Operate and maintain downstream secondary equipment.
  • Replenish raw materials on automated packaging equipment.
  • Respond to stoppages on secondary packaging equipment and conduct troubleshooting, jam clearing and cleaning.
  • Perform changeovers on secondary packaging equipment and assist machine operator with changeover on primary packaging equipment.
  • Responsible for quality checks on secondary packages, including lot coding and aesthetics.
  • Assist machine operator with quality checks on primary packages, including lot coding, aesthetics and seal Integrity.
  • Track output from the palletizing equipment and respond to jams.
  • Operate the supersack loading station.
  • Demonstrate and understand safety as a core value and follow the key essentials to safety as set forth by our safety resolution; reinforce and coach others to do the same.
  • Understand and follow established safety guidelines, consistently comply with all safety procedures (e.g. PPE, Lock Out Tag Out).
  • Support food safety, legality and quality programs.
  • Maintain product quality through adherence to good manufacturing practices, Food Safety Preventative Controls, product specifications and quality procedures. Monitor and document quality measures using analytical tools.
  • Perform other duties as needed in support of business objectives and Starbucks Mission & Values.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
