Job summary

Plastipak Packaging, Inc in Alsip, IL is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to operate extrusion and blow-molding equipment in a clean, climate-controlled plant. You will monitor settings, troubleshoot and perform maintenance, and conduct quality checks to ensure bottles meet weight and dimensional specs.

This role pays $20.00-$22.00 per hour with a $1 shift differential and includes comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience with high-volume production.
• Experience with extrusion or blow molding equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate extrusion and blow-molding equipment in a clean, safe, climate-controlled environment.
• Monitor equipment and adjust heat, cooling, and hydraulic settings to produce quality containers.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Perform quality checks on bottle weights and dimensions to meet specifications.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities to enhance safety, reliability, quality and scrap reduction.
