Job summary

APPLIED COMPOSITES INC is seeking a Manufacturing Technician 2 (Detooler) for 1st shift in Indianapolis, IN. The role focuses on surface preparation of masters/molds for laminate pre-preg composites, loading/unloading autoclaves, and demolding parts for inspection.

The ideal candidate has 0–2 years of relevant experience, HS diploma, and ability to use tools and read/write instructions. Competitive benefits and ITAR compliance noted.

Qualifications

  • Ability to use manual and power tools as part of daily duties.
  • Ability to perform accurate work at a rapid pace while following specs.
  • Must read and write at a proficient level to follow instructions.
  • Adherence to detailed work instructions and quality documents.
  • Familiarity with standard aerospace shop practices.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Quality documents such as Traveler, Build Manual and work instruction to operate autoclaves or oven recipes to specifications.
  • Prepare masters and molds in compliance to Engineering data and quality requirements and product Safety Data Sheets.
  • Demold parts from tools and ready the part for inspection.
  • Alert the Lead or Manager of nonconforming parts after cure cycle has completed and/or after demolding the part.
  • Book your labor and materials used according to company policy using internal computer systems.
  • Keep the area in which you work clean and safe.
  • Use the appropriate PPE when working with seal and release agents in the tool preparation area.
  • Undertake work within the capabilities you are certified to or as directed by your manager.
  • Work to be done in compliance with Government, Customer and Regulatory Bodies.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Salary Range: $22.00 To $25.00 Annually

Applied Composites is seeking a Production Detooler - 1st Shift who is responsible for the surface preparation of all masters and molds to be used to laminate pre-preg composite parts, to load and unload autoclaves, and to remove parts from the molds.

Job Accountabilities:
