Your Role
As a Manufacturing Technician 2 at MilliporeSigma you will support the manufacturing of products according to established protocols.

  • Set up equipment for specific unit operations such as unloading trucks, freeze drying products, or resin regeneration.
  • Move materials, supplies, and equipment in and out of the department.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate stock levels of materials and supplies.
  • Manage manufacturing waste removal and request waste transfers.
  • Set up, prepare, and manufacture products following current manufacturing procedures.
  • Perform processing tasks like resin regeneration, analytical work, container filling, dryer unloading, sampling of deionized water, and cleanroom monitoring.
  • Perform minor repairs and equipment setup with guidance; submit work orders for repairs when needed.
  • Use appropriate decision-making to correct malfunctions.
  • Ensure unit operations are controlled to optimize efficiency and throughput.
  • Perform analytical testing and inspections to determine material acceptance or rejection.
  • Complete cleanings as necessary based on work volume.
  • Assist in calibrations within the suite.
  • Communicate and document process, product, and equipment status.
  • Maintain neat, legible, and current records of supplies and materials.
  • Report deviations and unusual situations to supervision.
  • Follow safety, industry, and government guidelines like PSM and GMP.
  • Take action to address unsafe hazards.
  • Complete all required documentation per quality systems and good documentation practices.
  • Label all in-process equipment and containers properly.
  • Participate in safety and compliance activities.
  • Follow policies to ensure quality and conformity in materials and information shared with production and vendors.
  • Use, clean, and store PPE appropriately.
  • Assist in training co-workers.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement.
Physical Attributes
  • Wear PPE such as respirators, gloves, safety glasses, Tyvek suits, etc.
  • Work in warm environments occasionally.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, push, pull, bend, and lift as needed.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
