Job summary

nVent is seeking a skilled CNC equipment technician to support machining operations in Solon, Ohio. You will address quality issues, optimize tool life and cycle times, and troubleshoot a range of mechanical and electrical problems to ensure on-time customer delivery.

The role requires 3–5 years of CNC setup experience, strong print-reading abilities, and proficiency with CAD/3D modeling. You’ll work with maintenance and engineering teams and may relocate/install large machinery as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Technical or trade school preferred.
  • 3–5 years of direct CNC machining setup experience.
  • Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent print reading skills: GD&T, 3D modeling, and CAD proficiency is a plus.
  • Computer skills to use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Generate solutions for machining quality issues reported by machine operators.

  • Help relocate and install large machinery.
  • Understand engineering drawings, schematics, maintenance work orders, or manufacturers' manuals.
  • Handle various assignments and changing priorities.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on industrial machinery.
  • Use basic hand and power tools, machine tools, and precision measuring equipment.
