Job summary

APPLIED COMPOSITES INC is seeking an entry-level Manufacturing Technician for the 2nd shift in Indianapolis, IN. You will work under supervision to assemble aviation molds, tools and parts, following company processes, FAA regulations, and quality requirements.

The role requires basic mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to read specifications. Overtime, weekend work, and a strong safety focus are expected.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, substituted by relevant experience if needed.
  • Experience: Entry level, 1 year relevant experience requested.
  • Proficiency with electrical lab test equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to read design specs and technical drawings.
  • Strong problem solving and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products using fasteners, adhesives, sealants and tools.
  • Perform tasks in product/tool build including bonding, potting and curing.
  • Follow instructions and adapt as directed by supervisor/engineer.
  • Maintain documentation and quality procedures in work papers and travelers.
  • Support engineering and production in problem solving and improvements.
  • Ensure safety and organization of the work area.

Salary Range: $22.00 To $27.00 Hourly

The Manufacturing Technician-2nd Shfit will perform assignments that may not be completely standardized, as well as those that are very specific and require heavy attention to detail. Selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents. Receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed; performs recurring work independently; work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions

In addition, assist with the production of aviation molds, tools, and parts in accordance with company and customer standards, FAA regulations, and predetermined company processes and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions:
  • Assemble products with the use of fasteners, adhesives, sealants, etc. using standard tools and fabrication equipment.
  • Perform tasks associated with product and tool build including secondary bonding, potting inserts, curing, and wet laminating.
  • Undertake work within the capabilities you are certified to or as directed by your manager.
  • Adhere to all documentation including travelers, build manuals, red books, work instructions, quality procedures, inspection sheets, and drawings as applicable to the work being performed.
  • Participate in brainstorming/problem solving with Engineering & Production personnel to solve related problems.
  • Perform mold preparation, sealing, and release tasks.
  • Laminate and vacuum bag customer product in compliance with engineering data and associated quality requirements.
  • Cure parts in company equipment such as ovens, autoclaves and presses.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Constructs components, subunits, or simple models or adapts standard equipment. May troubleshoot and correct malfunctions.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and additional hours as necessary.
  • Overtime is a requirement for this production position.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • 2nd Shift Hours 3:45pm-12:15am Overtime as necessary

Information Management: Treats all information and data within the organization and scope of the position and maintains confidentiality and security at all times.

  • Cooperates fully in all risk management activities and investigations.
  • Reports promptly any suspected or potential violations to laws, regulations, procedures, policies, and practices, and cooperates in related investigation.
  • Conducts all transactions in compliance with all company policies, procedures, standards, and practices.

Safety Requirements: Is knowledgeable of, observes and complies with Codes of Safe Practice, safety policies and emergency procedures.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS AND CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
Minimum Position Qualifications :
