Applied Materials is looking for a Manufacturing Technician in Tempe, Arizona. This hands-on role involves working in a cleanroom environment to build, repair, and test multimillion-dollar fabrication equipment. Candidates will troubleshoot using advanced electronic measurement equipment and assist in quality control.
The ideal applicant has an associate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, with 4–7 years of relevant experience, particularly with CVD or vacuum-based systems. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing processes.
As a Manufacturing Technician you will work hands‑on in a cleanroom environment to build, repair, and test multimillion‑dollar display and wafer fabrication equipment. Your work will include electrical, electro‑mechanical, vacuum, and pneumatic assemblies, sub‑assemblies, and components. You will troubleshoot, perform audits, and use test facilities such as electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors, and vacuum pumps to ensure equipment functions correctly.
This position requires standing for extended periods, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, color discrimination, operation in noise environments, use of hand and power tools, and driving or operating heavy machinery including forklifts. Cleanroom work may require use of personal protective equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields.
Salary: $27.50 - $37.40
