About the Role

As a Manufacturing Technician you will work hands‑on in a cleanroom environment to build, repair, and test multimillion‑dollar display and wafer fabrication equipment. Your work will include electrical, electro‑mechanical, vacuum, and pneumatic assemblies, sub‑assemblies, and components. You will troubleshoot, perform audits, and use test facilities such as electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors, and vacuum pumps to ensure equipment functions correctly.

Role Responsibilities
  • Use work orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, and parts lists to build, repair, or test equipment of various kinds.
  • Perform electro‑mechanical assembly operations, troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Receive parts and audit them to confirm availability and defect‑free condition.
  • Use test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors, and vacuum pumps to test assemblies and sub‑assemblies.
  • Complete required job documentation, data entry, and perform computer programming or software installations as needed.
  • Work closely with engineering to develop and propose new processes, procedures, and new product designs.
  • Provide training and support to lower‑level technicians and assist supervisors in aligning daily production resources.
  • Serve as a Quality Lead for processes and assist with quality issues at customer sites.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on CVD reactors and subsystems (e.g., vacuum pumps, gas panels, MFCs, RF generators, chillers).
  • Diagnose tool failures and conduct root‑cause analysis for mechanical, electrical, or process issues.
  • Collaborate with equipment engineers on tool upgrades, retrofits, and modifications.
  • Assist process engineers in monitoring process stability, performance, and wafer/product output quality.
  • Support process runs, recipe setups, and parameter adjustments per engineering directions.
  • Perform chamber cleans, parts replacements, and verify coating uniformity or product quality as required.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs, process deviation records, and ensure adherence to SOPs.
  • Follow safety protocols, EHS standards, and cleanroom gowning requirements.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve tool uptime, cycle time, and yield.
  • Participate in 5S, Kaizen, and Lean manufacturing initiatives related to CVD toolsets.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree or technical diploma in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering, or equivalent experience in semiconductor or high‑vacuum systems.
  • 4–7 years of semiconductor or display experience, or comparable industry or military experience.
  • Specialized expertise within an analytical or scientific area for performing complex work.
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience with CVD or vacuum‑based deposition equipment (e.g., SiC, Si, PECVD, LPCVD, ALD tools).
  • Experience with machining and grinding of ceramic materials, quartz and coated parts.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret P&IDs, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
  • Experience working in cleanroom or controlled environments (preferred).
  • Familiarity with PLC controls, gas delivery systems, or hazardous materials handling (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in multiple semiconductor manufacturing concepts and processes.
  • Ability to operate as a senior technical leader and present projects with minimal supervision.
  • Proven leadership of teams of five or more.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 10%) to support teams.
  • Title of ASSEET or BSEET (DeVry, TSTC).
