Job summary

Silfex in Ohio is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join our high‑tech production team. This hands‑on role provides full training to operate a range of advanced machines that create precision components for the semiconductor industry.

You will engage in engraving, waterjet cutting, cleaning, lapping and polishing, learn 1–2 processes through on‑the‑job training, follow Silfex Quality Procedures, read assembly drawings, and record production data in batch records and ERP systems while

Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED.
  • 1‑2 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to operate equipment in cleanroom attire for long shifts and safely around hazardous chemicals.
  • Ability to read instructions and assess drawings to ensure product quality.
  • Basic proficiency with computers and software platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of advanced manufacturing machines used in precision component production.
  • Perform 5S housekeeping and maintain a safe work area around chemicals.
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings and process specifications.
  • Record quality and production data in batch records, ERP systems and productivity logs.
  • Perform routine maintenance and initiate maintenance work orders as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Join the team at Silfex as a Manufacturing Technician and launch your career in high-tech production!
  • In this hands‑on role, you’ll receive full training to operate a variety of advanced machines that play a key part in creating precision components for the semiconductor industry.
  • From engraving and waterjet cutting to cleaning, lapping, and polishing, you’ll learn to master equipment that transforms raw materials into high‑performance parts.
  • Operate machines that support the Silfex manufacturing and finishing processes.
  • Learn and perform 5S in and around work area by enacting lock out/tag out.
  • Develop proficiency in 1–2 designated processes through hands‑on training and experience.
  • Learn and apply Silfex policies and procedures to perform routine tasks effectively and safely.
  • Follow all material handling requirements to ensure quality of product and equipment.
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings, follow all work instructions, setup sheets and process specifications.
  • Record quality and production data accurately and promptly in batch records, ERP systems, and productivity or quality logs.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the area and perform general and routine housekeeping tasks.
  • Ensure equipment is functioning properly by performing routine and minor maintenance.
  • Initiate maintenance work orders when necessary to support operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain competency in basic troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of the Silfex Quality Management System and properly apply Quality Procedures and Operating Procedures as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED.
  • 1‑2 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Ability and willingness to efficiently and effectively operate equipment in cleanroom apparel for 12‑hour shifts and work safely around hazardous chemicals.
  • Ability to learn how to interpret instructions and assess drawings to ensure product quality.
  • Must possess basic proficiency in operating computers, including navigating software and web‑based platform.
  • Must be safety and quality minded.
  • Attention to detail is required.
  • Must be able to work effectively individually and in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to support the pace of work in the manufacturing area.
  • Must be able to perform successfully under minimum supervision.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
