Job summary

Azbil North America, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Production Technician to assemble salable products, follow guidelines for confidentiality and safety, troubleshoot issues, test products, assist in building, and package finished products after inspection.

The role is full-time in a warehouse environment in Phoenix, AZ, with responsibilities spanning from setup and operation of production equipment to receiving shipments and maintaining a clean, safe workspace. Forklift experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of experience in a technical repair or manufacturing role.
• Electrical or electronics background preferred.
• Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes and DMMs; knowledge of insulation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Test products or subassemblies for functionality or quality per work instructions and control plan.
• Troubleshoot problems with assembled products.
• Assemble product subassemblies or final assemblies.
• Monitor production processes or equipment for quality and productivity.
• Prepare and assemble materials.
• Set up and operate production equipment per SOPs and current good manufacturing practices.
• Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications.
• Operate forklift following safety policies and ship/package finished goods.

The manufacturing production technician is a technical role and is responsible for the assembly of salable products. They are to maintain and contribute to guidelines and policies to ensure the confidentiality and safety of the work environment. They will troubleshoot problems, test products, assist in building, and package finished products after inspection.

Essential Functions

• Test products or subassemblies for functionality or quality per work instructions and control plan[1]
• Troubleshoot problems with assembled products
• Assemble product subassemblies or final assemblies
• Monitor production processes or equipment for quality and productivity
• Prepare and assemble materials
• Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures
• Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications
• Monitor inventory of job materials
• Complete Orders to meet production and schedule requirements
• Set up and verify the functionality of safety equipment
• Start up and shut down processing equipment
• Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance
• Clean production equipment or work areas
• Measure and record data associated with product testing
• Provide training to other technicians
• Select cleaning materials, tools, or equipment
• Be aware and notify supervisor immediately of any abnormal conditions
• Perform maintenance functions as directed
• Will have to operate a forklift following safety policies
• Package finished products
• Ship packages following carrier specifications
• Receive shipments
• Assemble and/or modify stock equipment per customer’s specifications
• Provide production, progress, or changeover reports to shift supervisors

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position in a warehouse environment. The noise level is light to moderate and it is air conditioned. There is also access to a break room for breaks and lunch.

General Requirements

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
• Must have sufficient strength to use torque wrenches in final assembly
• Must be able to talk and hear to communicate with the team especially concerning safety
• Frequently required to sit, stand, use your hands to handle or feel the products, and reach with your hands and arms
• Specific vision abilities are required and includes close vision and ability to adjust focus

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

• This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, hours determined by supervisor.

Required Education And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• 1-2 years+ experience in a technical repair or manufacturing job
• Electrical or Electronics background preferred
• Previous experience with test equipment, Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Insulation
• Light technical skills
• Must be able to read and apply technical data
• Prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Attention to detail
• Ability to follow direction
• Must have basic hand tool proficiency
• Previous forklift experience preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Must be of excellent moral character and have high ethical standards
• Be able to understand and adhere to the company’s security guidelines
• Deal with problems involving variables in routine situations
• Ability to visually inspect assembled parts
• Ability to effectively communicate and interface with many corporate, customer, and employee levels
• Apply strict confidentiality rules to a daily workload
• Assure accuracy of product packaging
