Job summary

INFICON Manufacturing Technician on the production floor performs hands-on assembly, testing, and rework with emphasis on quality, accuracy, and on-time delivery. Assemble and repair products meeting quality goals and customer requirements.

This role supports all areas of the production floor, uses test equipment and MAP instructions, and collects data with Microsoft Office. Open to 1st, 2nd, or weekend shifts; opportunities for growth, profit sharing, and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude or hands-on experience welcomed.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with high attention to detail.
• Experience in cleanroom environment and with basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and repair products meeting quality and delivery goals.
• Assemble and test mechanical components using drawings and MAP instructions.
• Perform functional testing with specialized test equipment.
• Maintain production pace and support data collection with MS Office.
• Support inventory control and cross‑functional production areas.
• Perform routine rework and maintain process accuracy.

Job description

The Manufacturing Technician plays a key role on the production floor, performing hands‑on assembly, testing, and rework with a focus on quality, accuracy, and on‑time delivery.Assemble and repair products that meet or exceed quality, customer, and company goals.

We're open to candidates interested in either 1st shift, 2nd shift, or a weekend shift.

Assemble, repair, and rework assemblies and circuit boards efficiently with minimal supervision, producing thorough and exact output

Assemble and test mechanical components using test equipment, fixtures, engineering drawings, and Manufacturing Assembly Procedure (MAP) instructions

Perform in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment while maintaining high quality and on‑time delivery

Perform functional testing on products using specialized test equipment

Support all areas of the production floor as required

Perform data collection using Microsoft Office products and current data collection methods

Maintain inventory and perform transactions accurately using our inventory control system

Qualifications

Basic Job Skills

• Mechanical aptitude or hands‑on experience in a similar environment a plus, but not required
• Familiarity with hand tools, measuring devices, or electrical equipment a plus
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• High attention to detail
• Ability to work in a cleanroom environment with an understanding of cleanliness standards
• Basic computer skills a plus

Education and/or Experience

Experienced Level:

• Associate degree in Mechanical Technology or a related field preferred
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment may be considered in lieu of a degree
• Also helpful, though not required:
• 1+ years of experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly
• Soldering experience or certification
• SAP or inventory system experience

Entry Level:

• Entry-level candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, no prior manufacturing experience required

• Acceptance at this level is subject to interviewer discretion based on demonstrated work ethic and potential. This level begins in our introductory program, which includes an assessment period with the potential for increased compensation upon successful completion

Certifications / License

Mechanical Technology Certification preferred but not required

Physical Requirements

Requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods

Must be able to lift, carry, or move up to 20 pounds frequently

Additional Information

A reasonable estimate of the current range is:$18.50-$24.00 per hour. In addition, INFICON employees are eligible for a profit‑sharing bonus with a target of 10% as well as 401K match up to 8% (vesting schedule). The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
