Job summary

Ingersoll Rand in Alsip, IL is seeking a Manufacturing Technician. You will set up CNC equipment, troubleshoot on the shop floor, and ensure processes meet exacting standards.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant manufacturing experience with CNC machining equipment operation and setup.
  • 1+ years experience in CNC programming, troubleshooting, and Lean manufacturing principles.
  • 1+ years of experience using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks or AutoCAD) for creating process prints, tools, fixtures, and gauges.
  • 1+ years of interpreting technical drawings and using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and implement innovative process improvements in manufacturing and assembly to enhance productivity.
  • Use visual controls to clearly communicate process improvements, performance metrics, and project status to the team.
  • Manage time and priorities effectively to meet product development goals while addressing real-time production challenges.
  • Lead the identification and execution of productivity initiatives to achieve operational targets.
  • Conduct real-time problem resolution to support on-time delivery and minimize production disruptions.
  • Contribute to the design and preparation of drawings for equipment, fixture, and tool modifications.
  • Assist in designing fixtures and material handling devices that meet regulatory requirements and improve process efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement projects focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity (SQDIP).

As a Manufacturing Technician, you'll put your CNC machining and programming expertise to work-setting up equipment, troubleshooting issues on the floor, and ensuring every cut, contour, and operation meets exacting standards. You'll apply Lean manufacturing principles to refine processes, eliminate waste, and elevate efficiency. Your ability to interpret technical drawings, use precision measuring instruments, and leverage CAD software will be central to delivering the accuracy and consistency our products demand. In this role, you'll document and enhance manufacturing processes, contribute to continuous improvement, and support real-time problem resolution to keep production running seamlessly. Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of relevant manufacturing experience with CNC machining equipment operation and setup.
  • 1+ years experience in CNC programming, troubleshooting, and application of Lean manufacturing principles.
  • 1+ years of experience using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks or AutoCAD) for creating process prints, tools, fixtures, and gauges.
  • 1+ years of interpreting technical drawings and use precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).

  • CNC Programming & Troubleshooting: Proficiency in programming CNC equipment and resolving technical issues on the shop floor.
  • Mechanical & Technical Skills: Strong aptitude for milling, grinding, assembly, and automation processes.
  • Process & Systems Optimization: Developing, documenting, and implementing systems and procedures to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Project Management: Ability to independently plan, manage, and complete projects from start to finish.
Travel & Work Arrangements
  • This is an onsite role, providing hands-on support for day-to-day manufacturing operations.
  • Close visual acuity is required for reading schematics, technical drawings, and computer screens.
  • Up to 25% travel may be required.
  • Work is performed on the manufacturing floor with exposure to varying temperatures.

Pay Range

The base pay range for this role is $80,000 - 100,000 annually. The pay range considers a wide range of factors that include a candidate's skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location.
