Position Details

We are seeking a Senior Chemical Engineer to join our Monomers Manufacturing Technology team in Fayetteville, NC, reporting to the Monomers Manufacturing Technology Manager. The role involves providing technical support, guidance, and oversight to manufacturing process systems, focusing on safety, operability, and process improvement. The position includes implementing improvement projects and supporting plant operations for fluoromonomer products used in advanced performance materials.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop technical strategies aligned with business objectives and identify capital project opportunities.
  2. Support chemical engineering aspects of monomers manufacturing operations.
  3. Ensure project compliance with specifications, standards, and quality assurance.
  4. Review and initiate design changes to improve safety, quality, environmental impact, or cost.
  5. Support basic data development and oversee design for large capital projects.
  6. Lead or participate in Process Safety Management activities like PHA reviews, PSSR, and incident investigations.
  7. Contribute to environmental and product stewardship goals.
  8. Provide troubleshooting, maintenance, and modification support for equipment and facilities.
  9. Lead process quality and yield improvement initiatives.
  10. Manage reports on new product development trials for commercialization and continuous improvement.
Minimum Requirements
  • BS in Chemical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in reaction optimization and distillation, or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Experience supporting high-hazard operations with toxic materials.
  • Process Safety Management (PSM) experience, especially management of change and hazard analysis.
  • Knowledge of data analysis, unit operations, RCFA, FMEA, engineering standards, and cost analysis.
  • Self-motivated with proactive improvement mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
  • Experience leading Process Hazard Analyses.
