Job summary

Connect Force is seeking a Technical Project Manager to oversee customer projects in an industrial manufacturing setting in Metro Detroit. The role brings together engineering, purchasing, production, and customers to keep projects organized, commercially sound, and on schedule.

You will translate commitments into clear plans, coordinate multiple departments, and maintain documentation through completion and handoff, with a strong focus on delivering customer-valued outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience managing projects involving industrial equipment, engineered products, automation, or manufacturing.
• Track record coordinating multiple departments and keeping competing priorities moving.
• Ability to discuss technical requirements with engineers, production teams, and customers.
• Experience with project schedules, budgets, change management, and reporting.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and project specifications.
• Clear communication and accountability.
• Degree in engineering, manufacturing, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• PMP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned projects from order handoff through completion and customer acceptance.
• Establish project schedules, milestones, responsibilities, and delivery priorities.
• Coordinate engineering, purchasing, production, and other supporting departments.
• Monitor project costs, track progress against budgets, and flag potential overruns.
• Serve as the primary customer contact for project updates, open issues, and schedule changes.
• Review project requirements to ensure teams understand the agreed scope and deliverables.
• Manage scope changes, documenting their impact on cost, timing, and resources.
• Lead project meetings and maintain clear action items, ownership, and follow-through.
• Identify technical and scheduling risks and coordinate practical solutions.
• Maintain project documentation and support a smooth handoff at completion.
