Job summary

Zap Energy in Everett, WA seeks a Manufacturing Team Lead for the ZMR program. You will establish a high-quality in-house fabrication capability, oversee vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, piping, and other high-temperature components, and drive ASME certification readiness.

The role requires 10+ years in manufacturing with ASME codes, strong leadership, and ability to write precise fabrication instructions and manage budgets. Collaboration with design, testing, and QA is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field from an ABET-accredited program is required.
• At least 10 years of experience in manufacturing and fabrication of hardware/components subject to industrial codes and standards.
• Expertise in manufacturing processes and fabrication methods; familiarity with ASME Codes & Standards.
• Ability to manage a team of three or more direct reports; strong technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, build out, and lead manufacturing, eventually within a Quality Assurance program, of vessels and piping per ASME codes.
• Oversee multiple manufacturing disciplines including welding, machining, CNC machining, and additive manufacturing.
• Build and lead the Manufacturing team; develop metrics to assess and improve performance; own technical delivery and development.
• Develop strategy and roadmap for manufacturing capabilities to support testing and production of ZMR components.
• Collaborate with design, testing, and procurement to ensure manufacturability and select suppliers.
