Job summary

• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow PPE requirements.
• Dump brass and scrap as assigned; manage hoppers and bar ends weekly.
• Identify health and safety hazards and report them to management.

Job description

Join a small successful machining company that has been in the Jamestown area for over 130 years. We pay for experience, but experience is not required. We will train you. This role will allow you to enter a career in manufacturing where you may have advancement opportunities based on work performance.

Job Focus

• You are expected to rotate through each station by loading a bucket, turning on chip spinner and moving to the next spinner.
• Ensure that special metals are spun at least once per hour daily.
• Spin out oily rags and carpets
• Cleaning and maintaining work area.
• Dumping full Hoppers
• Clean chip buildup out of spinners once per shift
• Maintain sump areas: make sure cleaned when needed and working properly
• Follow PPE Requirements
• Pick up bar ends (scrap) once per week
• Dump brass once per week
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

General Duties

• Remain alert and aware to any health and safety hazards or health and safety violations and report any concerns to management.
• Comply with regulatory requirements of OSHA, DEC, EPA etc.
• Strive to develop new ideas and techniques to improve process and/or quality

Essential Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, lift and move material weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly required to stand, bend, sit and move to operate machines and move around the facility.
