Job summary

Crane Company is seeking a Pre-Fab Associate I in Jurupa Valley, CA. This entry level position supports production, loads/unloads materials, operates machinery with supervision, inspects quality, and assists with packing and material handling.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in warehouse or production, and basic tools knowledge. Forklift and ERP experience are a plus. Weekend availability may be required.

Employees at this level have minimum knowledge of Hand tools, power tools, tape measures, basic safety practices and time management.* Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances.* Operate machinery used in the production process or assist machine operators.* Place products in equipment or on work surfaces for further processing, inspecting, or wrapping.* Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.* Start machines or equipment to begin production processes.* Observe equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected and notify operators of any malfunctions.* Remove products, machine attachments, or waste material from machines.* Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists.* Transfer finished products, raw materials, tools, or equipment between storage and work areas of plants and warehouses, by hand or using hand trucks or powered lift trucks.* Pack and store materials and products.* Help Operators, Welders and other co-workers with supplying or holding materials or tools, or cleaning work areas and equipment.* Count finished products to determine if product orders are complete.* Measure amounts of products, lengths of extruded articles, or weights of filled containers to ensure conformance to specifications.* Separate products according to weight, grade, size, or composition of materials used to produce them.* Turn valves to regulate flow of liquids or air, to reverse machines, to start pumps, or to regulate equipment.* Read and interpret drawings and blueprints.**Responsibilities/Duties:*** Handling and Moving Objects* Performing General Physical Activities* Controlling Machines and Processes* Identifying Objects, Actions, and Events* Getting Information* Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates* Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material* Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings* Processing Information* Repairing and Maintaining Mechanical Equipment**Additional Duties*** Adjust equipment controls to regulate flow of water, cleaning solutions, or other liquids.* Clean production equipment.* Clean work areas.* Clean workpieces or finished products.* Count finished products or workpieces.* Feed materials or products into or through equipment.* Install mechanical components in production equipment.* Lift materials or workpieces using cranes or other lifting equipment.* Load materials into production equipment.* Lubricate production equipment.* Mark products, workpieces, or equipment with identifying information.* Mix substances to create chemical solutions.* Mount attachments or tools onto production equipment.* Move products, materials, or equipment between work areas.* Notify others of equipment repair or maintenance needs.* Package products for storage or shipment.* Record operational or production data.* Remove products or workpieces from production equipment.* Repair production equipment or tools.* Replace worn equipment components.* Signal others to coordinate work activities.* Sort materials or products for processing, storing, shipping, or grading.* Watch operating equipment to detect malfunctions.**Education, Work Experience, Skill Requirements & Certifications:****Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:*** High School Graduate or GED equivalent/Some college preferred.**Minimum Experience required:*** Minimum 2+ years of relevant Warehouse or Production experience.* ERP experience a plus.* Experience in working with cryogenic equipment and/or hoses, valves and piping a plus.* Forklift experience is a plus**Skills Required:*** Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced warehouse environment* Must have excellent organizational skills and be detail oriented. Ability to handle several projects simultaneously, prioritize work and handle last minute demands appropriately.* Proven success with working in a team environment.* Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously without constant supervision.* Good communication, written and grammatical skills. Customer service oriented.* Entry level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and in general data entry.* Physically able to push/pull/lift/carry supplies and various works in progress of at least 50 pounds* Physically able to bend/kneel/walk/stand, in tandem with cart, step stools or rolling ladders, to access supplies and various works in progress or other materials as needed in storage rooms or production areas* Able to work on foot for extended periods of time**Minimum License, Certifications & Affiliations/Memberships and CEU’s*** Valid California driver’s license and an insured vehicle in good working order.**Special Requirement:*** May be required to work weekends and holidays as business necessitates; schedules will be determined by management with at least 48 hours advance notice.**Work Environment:**Working in the shop, the following conditions may apply:* Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.* Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32 F degrees) temperatures.*This description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work being performed by employees within this classification.
