Job summary

ARCH Global Precision in Kentucky is seeking a hands-on Grinder/Wheel Technician to support CNC production by resharpening grinding wheels and assembling wheel packs. This role emphasizes quality, safety, and adherence to documented procedures.

You will inspect wheels, operate the wheel dressing machine, pre-set wheels per job docs, and ensure the process maintains high-quality parts. Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred, with 6 months to 1 year related work.

Summary: Collaborates with the production team to resharpen grinding wheels and assemble wheel packs for use in manufacturing processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Resharpening grinding wheels for use on CNC machines in production.
  • Inspecting wheels for signs of excessive wear or defects.
  • Operating the wheel dressing machine to remove worn abrasives, smooth rough spots, and sharpen the edges of the wheels.
  • Pre-setting wheels according to the specifications outlined in job documentation.
  • Ensuring the resharpening process is carried out to maintain consistent production of high-quality parts.

Education and/or Experience
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
