Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) is seeking a Production/Operations Supervisor in Dillon, SC to lead a manufacturing team on the shop floor. This role will drive technical leadership, quality control, and production scheduling to meet customer requirements and cost targets.

The successful candidate will oversee hourly staff, implement process improvements, and coach team members while maintaining strict safety standards and adherence to lean Six Sigma practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business required or equivalent experience
• Minimum 4 years of supervisory/leadership experience in manufacturing
• Experience in CNC Machining, Dimensional Inspection, and precision measuring equipment preferred
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines and meet schedules
• Strong team-building and coaching skills
• Six Sigma training is preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide technical, quality and production leadership to assigned team to meet quality, schedule, and cost goals
• Provide ongoing support in scheduling resources, technical leadership and facilitating the flow of hardware to meet customer requirements
• Support Team Leaders with decision making in process improvement and resource decisions to facilitate manufacturing flow
• Support process improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, improve inventory turns and reduce losses
• Direct hourly team activities to meet production goals and participate in department initiatives
• Perform administrative duties to support the business (timecards, labor vouchers, audits)
• Coordinate first line activities (Methods, Production Control) to assure schedules, quality and customer satisfaction
• Coach and mentor team members regarding performance and development
• Review production orders and ensure schedules are met
• Diagnose machine/tooling problems and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime
• Uphold safety standards and promote Six Sigma rigor across the department
• Mentor the team in safety, quality, and productivity improvements
• Other duties as assigned

Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide technical, quality and production leadership to assigned team to meet quality, schedule, and cost goals

• Analyze and diagnose machine and tooling problems and takes corrective measures to minimize downtime and interruption of schedules
• Achieve highest safety levels in the plant
• Experience with implementing lean manufacturing improvements
• Employ Six Sigma rigors to all functions within the department

Knowledge and Training

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of prior supervisor / leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering preferred
• (Prior experience, in CNC Machining, Dimensional Inspection, and knowledge of precision measuring equipment)
• Prior supervisory / leadership experience in manufacturing/ Prior machining leadership experience a plus
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines and bring to successful completion
• Strong team building / coaching skills
• Knowledge of manufacturing operations and practices
• Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
• Ability to counsel and motivate team members
• Strong attention to detail
