Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, ANSI ESD S20.20, JIT Manufacturing, Kanban systems, Continuous Flow Manufacturing, and IPC standards.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, for creating and updating production schedules, team logs, reviews, Manufacturing Instructions, check sheets, labor tracking, problem solving, and documentation.
  • Technical knowledge relevant to the supervising area is a plus.
  • Good housekeeping practices and adherence to all company procedures related to production, safety, and team compliance.
  • Self-motivated, energetic individual capable of managing multiple projects.
  • Ability to read and understand Bill of Materials, Engineering layouts, and Assembly Prints.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills within a team environment.
  • Capability to set and facilitate personal and departmental goals/targets.
  • Conduct team meetings.
  • Review and, when necessary, discipline team members according to performance and company policies.
  • Write and review ECOs, Deviations, Tollgates for the supervised area.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MANUFACTURING SUPERVISOR

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six to ten years of related experience OR a combination of relevant education, training, and experience.
  • Must pass Electrical Safety Training if supervising test areas.
  • IPC J-STD Module Training—level based on supervising area.
  • Excellent attendance, reliable transportation, and potentially CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or the business community; write speeches and articles; and present information effectively to management and public groups.
  • Proficiency with internet/intranet, ERP software, MS Office, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts, including probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry, and apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Problem-solving skills to handle practical situations with limited standardization; ability to interpret various instructions.
