Job summary

  • Oversees scheduling, material handling, maintenance, and production issue resolution.
  • Manages performance, training, and development of employees.
  • Ensures safe work environment and adherence to SQF, LEAN, 5S and Six Sigma.
  • Supports payroll processes and timecard approvals.
  • Assists in interviewing and other duties as assigned.

AManufacturingSupervisoris responsible formanaging various production activities including but not limitedto:planning,directingand monitoring production to meet established specifications, schedules, department productiontargetsand quality standards.They understand and align plant operations & production as he/she executes their role in the overall order fulfillment process to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial,and operational objectives.In addition to planning, prioritizing, and managing production line maintenance/downtime to minimize disruptions.



Essential Duties & responsibilities:


  • Supervises andfacilitatesthe day-to-day shift activities ofteam. Utilizes knowledge and experience, providing training to team members.


  • Responsible for their individual performance.


  • Oversees scheduling, material handlingissuesand maintenance, as well as resolving production problems.


  • Responsible for people management actions such as performance management, rewarding,trainingand developing employees.


  • Works with employees tomaintaina safe work environment. Encourages and leads team members to work in a safe manner and to seek improvement in work practices.


  • Supervises entry-level, and semi-skilled hourly union employees such as production, and craft workers.


  • Ensures that product quality, production efficiency, and overall productivity meet orexceedsestablished standards.


  • Strives to be technically proficientonthemachinery in the department.


  • Usesjudgement toidentify,troubleshootand resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems.


  • Must be supportive and involved in GPI efforts for LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes.


  • Strives toclearlyunderstandcustomer requirements and delivers results to meet or exceed customer expectations.


  • Ability and responsibility to stop any process that is not meeting employee safety requirements.


  • Ability and responsibility to stop any process thatis not meetingcustomer quality requirements.


  • Reviews, andsubmitsall training documentation to the department manager for review and approval


  • In conjunction with other production supervisors, ensures daily pay period completion of alltimecards, andpre approvalprior to submission to payroll.


  • Assistin interviewing processes as requested.


  • Other duties as assigned.



  • Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related toproductionof Safe Quality Foods.


  • Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.


  • Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) asrequired.


  • Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).


  • Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.




SCHEDULE DEMANDS:


  • Manufacturing Supervisor will be managing the floor on Third Shift


  • Week is Sundaythrough Thursday with Friday and Saturday off


  • Will consist of an8 hourwork daystarting at 11 pm


  • Ability to work as requested off hours and weekends as needed


Position Requirements:


  • Bachelor’sdegreeor related work experience required in lieu of degree


  • 3-5 Years of manufacturing experiencerequired


  • Experience in a front-line leadership positionrequired


  • Union experience preferred but notrequired


SKILLS:

  • Technical andproblem solvingskills.



  • Interpersonal skills


  • Excellent communication skills.


  • Highly skilled in Microsoft office applications.


  • SAP knowledge preferred but notrequired

Pay Range: $72,700.00-$96,900.00
