Job summary

Type One Energy seeks a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead daily HTS magnet production, assembly, and testing activities. You will supervise technicians, drive safety, quality, and schedule execution while guiding continuous improvement in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.

The role requires 10+ years in advanced manufacturing with 5+ years in leadership. A strong background in electromechanical assemblies and Lean practices is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or related field.
• 10+ years of manufacturing experience in a high-tech production environment.
• 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience managing technicians and production personnel.
• Experience with complex electromechanical assemblies, advanced manufacturing processes, or precision production environments.
• Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing planning, scheduling, and execution.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced R&D and production environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day manufacturing activities supporting HTS magnet production, assembly, and integration.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of technicians, assemblers, and manufacturing specialists.
• Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution of manufacturing operations.
• Monitor production schedules and coordinate resources to meet program milestones and deliverables.
• Escalate production constraints and coordinate cross-functional resolution efforts.
• Oversee fabrication, winding, assembly, electrical hardware integration, testing, and related manufacturing activities.
• Ensure adherence to work instructions, manufacturing procedures, engineering requirements, and quality standards.
• Support introduction of new products, processes, tooling, and manufacturing technologies.
• Participate in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and production readiness reviews.
• Maintain accurate production records, configuration documentation, and manufacturing metrics.
• Foster a strong safety-first culture throughout all operations.
• Ensure compliance with company EHS requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Monitor and improve KPIs including throughput, cycle time, yield, productivity, and labor efficiency.

Your role in the mission:
