Job summary

Type One Energy Group is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead daily production operations for HTS magnet components and subsystems. This role will supervise technicians and manufacturing personnel, driving safety, quality, schedule execution, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, cutting-edge environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or related field (Bachelors preferred).
• 10+ years of manufacturing experience in a high-tech production environment.
• 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience managing technicians and production personnel.
• Experience with complex electromechanical assemblies or precision production environments.
• Knowledge of manufacturing planning, scheduling, and execution.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
• Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement experience.
• Ability to work in a dynamic R&D and production environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day manufacturing activities supporting HTS magnet production, assembly, and integration.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of technicians, assemblers, and manufacturing specialists.
• Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution of manufacturing operations.
• Monitor production schedules and coordinate resources to meet program milestones and deliverables.
• Escalate production constraints and coordinate cross-functional resolution efforts.
• Oversee fabrication, winding, assembly, electrical hardware integration, testing, and related activities.
• Ensure adherence to work instructions, manufacturing procedures, and quality standards.
• Support introduction of new products, processes, tooling, and manufacturing technologies.
• Participate in Design for Manufacturing and production readiness reviews.
• Maintain accurate production records, configuration documentation, and manufacturing metrics.
• Foster a strong safety-first culture and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead Lean and continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Monitor and improve KPIs including throughput, cycle time, yield, productivity, and labor efficiency.

Your role in the mission

Type One Energy is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Supervisor to lead daily production operations supporting the fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing of HTS magnet components and subsystems. This individual will be responsible for supervising technicians and manufacturing personnel, driving safety, quality, schedule execution, and continuous improvement initiatives within a cutting-edge advanced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day manufacturing activities supporting HTS magnet production, assembly, and integration.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of technicians, assemblers, and manufacturing specialists.
• Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution of manufacturing operations.
• Monitor production schedules and coordinate resources to meet program milestones and deliverables

• Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) including throughput, cycle time, yield, productivity, and labor efficiency.

What you’ll need

• Associate's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 10+ years of manufacturing experience in a high-tech production environment.
• 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience managing technicians and production personnel.
• Experience with complex electromechanical assemblies, advanced manufacturing processes, or precision production environments.
• Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing planning, scheduling, and execution.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced R&D and production environment
