Our main product is a modular sofa collection we call “The World’s Greatest Modular Sofa” that includes features such as endless modularity, water‑repellent and stain‑resistant fabrics, removable and machine‑washable covers, memory foam cushions, and many more.
Key Responsibilities
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands‑on environment and be responsible for achieving daily production targets
- Leading all final‑stage manufacturing and assembly operations, ensuring products meet quality and production standards.
- Supervise, hire, mentor, and performance‑manage a production floor team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Develop, document, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all finishing and assembly processes, ensuring consistent adherence across the team.
- Conduct hands‑on training for new hires and existing employees on processes, safety protocols, and quality expectations.
- Perform and oversee quality control (QC) inspections of completed work, identifying deficiencies and driving corrective action.
- Monitor daily production output and workflow, proactively resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with operations leadership to establish KPIs, track performance, and continuously refine processes as the department scales.
- Enforce all workplace safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and compliant production environment.
- Coordinate with inventory and logistics teams to manage material flow and ensure on‑time production schedules.
- Provide regular reports to senior leadership on production metrics, team performance, and departmental needs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 7+ years of hands‑on experience in final‑stage manufacturing, production assembly, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience supervising and managing production floor teams in a manufacturing or assembly setting.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement SOPs, training programs, and quality control processes.
- Strong QC mindset with a sharp eye for detail and a commitment to consistently delivering a high‑quality finished product.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, start‑up‑like environment where processes are still being built.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to lead, motivate, and hold a team accountable.
- Comfortable working on the production floor daily — this is a hands‑on leadership role.
- Proficiency with productivity tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, or similar) and Netsuite.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish — strongly preferred.
- Experience in furniture manufacturing, woodworking, upholstery, or related product categories.
- Background in lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with using NetSuite.
- Prior experience building or scaling a new department or team from the ground up.
