Job summary

CIRCOR Aerospace & Defense, based in Corona, California, seeks a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead daily production operations, driving safety, quality, and on-time delivery while fostering continuous improvement across teams.

You will supervise a Manufacturing Lead and production staff, plan labor resources, and ensure adherence to procedures and quality standards in a highly regulated aerospace environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years manufacturing supervisory/management experience.
  • Experience leading teams in aerospace, defense, regulated, or complex manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership with safety, quality, delivery, and productivity improvements.
  • Experience with Lean, Kaizen, 5S, visual management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of production planning, scheduling, capacity planning, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with AS9100 quality systems and aerospace regulatory requirements preferred.
  • FAA Repair Station experience is a plus.
  • Experience in MRB activities, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Proficient with MS Office and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to embrace change and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily manufacturing operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals.
  • Supervise one Manufacturing Lead and production personnel to meet daily requirements.
  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate labor resources to support schedules and commitments.
  • Drive continuous improvement, waste reduction, and employee engagement.
  • Lead daily production meetings and communicate KPIs, priorities, and customer requirements.
  • Monitor workflow and identify opportunities to improve throughput, efficiency, and utilization.
  • Lead employee relations through coaching, training, performance management, and development.
  • Ensure training and certification in procedures, safety, and quality standards.
  • Interface with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Planning, and Customer Service to resolve issues.
  • Provide ETC to Planning and Customer Service and analyze performance metrics.
  • Implement standardized work, visual management, and Lean principles.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for quality and productivity.

POSITION DETAILS
Position Summary

The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives are achieved. This role directly supervises one Manufacturing Lead and a team of production employees while driving operational excellence, employee engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing area.

  • Ensure completion and on-time delivery of products at the lowest possible cost and highest quality.
  • Supervise and support one Manufacturing Lead and production personnel to meet daily production requirements.
  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate labor resources to support production schedules and customer commitments.
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement, problem solving, waste elimination, and employee engagement.
  • Lead daily production meetings and communicate key performance metrics, priorities, and customer requirements.
  • Monitor production workflow and identify opportunities to improve throughput, efficiency, and utilization.
  • Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communication, coaching, training, performance management, and development.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations and support succession planning and workforce development initiatives.
  • Ensure employees are trained and certified in applicable procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Interface with upstream and downstream operations to address manufacturing issues affecting production flow.
  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Planning, and Customer Service departments to resolve production challenges.
  • Provide Estimated Time to Complete (ETC) for products to Planning and Customer Service.
  • Create and analyze performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost.
  • Implement and sustain standardized work, visual management systems, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions related to quality, productivity, and operational issues.
  • Manage implementation of design changes, engineering revisions, and new product introductions into production.
  • Coordinate closely with the Documentation and Engineering departments when developing new assembly documentation and work instructions.
  • Review and account for exceptions to work order standards and labor reporting.
  • Participate in and support Material Review Board (MRB) activities, including disposition of failed production units.
  • Support inventory accuracy through cycle count participation, material control practices, and transaction compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, OSHA, environmental, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with AS9100, customer requirements, and regulatory standards applicable to aerospace manufacturing.
  • Support audits conducted by customers, regulatory agencies, and internal quality teams.
  • Drive accountability for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, scrap, and labor efficiency.
