The Pivot Group Network in Jackson, MI is seeking a Staff Accountant to support inventory accounting, financial statements, month-end close, and audits for manufacturing clients in Michigan. Opportunities exist with multiple Jackson-area manufacturers, with long-term fit and career growth in mind.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, 0–4 years of experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency in ERP systems and Advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 0 to 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Bonus: advanced Excel (pivot tables, etc.), CPA/CMA encouraged.
• Experience with cost accounting and inventory valuation; SOX familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inventory accounting and cost of goods sold analysis.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Support external audits by providing documentation and explanations.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis.
• Prepare and post journal entries for month end close.
• Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
