Job summary

K&L Microwave is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support month-end close, inventory, and cost accounting in a manufacturing setting. You will work cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, and production to ensure accurate financial reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, 2–5 years of experience, and strong Excel skills. CPA is a plus; ERP experience is essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments
• Understanding of GAAP and basic cost accounting principles
• Experience with ERP systems
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA is a plus

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger journal entries and account reconciliations
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Support inventory accounting, including cycle counts, inventory adjustments, and reconciliation of inventory accounts
• Assist with cost accounting functions including labor, overhead allocation, and product costing analysis
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets
• Analyze manufacturing variances and provide explanations to management
• Prepare financial reports and schedules for internal management review
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
• Support internal audits and compliance reporting
• Maintain internal controls and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures
• Collaborate with operations and production departments to improve financial accuracy and reporting efficiency
• Participate in ERP system maintenance, reporting enhancements, and process improvements
