Coldspring in Minnesota is seeking a full-time second-shift Stone/Marker Assembler to cut, blunt, drill, and assemble bronze markers and drill bases on granite, using an overhead crane, saws, and banding equipment to meet production tickets.

This role requires mechanical aptitude, the ability to read work orders and measure with imperial and metric tapes, strong safety awareness, and a willingness to cross-train. Second shift offers a $1.00 shift differential and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload saws with an overhead crane.
• Review production tickets to determine cuts for the stone.
• Level and square stone on the saw bed and align with specs.
• Operate saws for straight and angled cuts per order.
• Drill holes for bronze memorial plates into granite markers.
• Label slabs, scan tickets, and record work in the system.
• Band and palletize finished markers for shipping.
• Coordinate with shipping to optimize cost efficiencies.
• Pack product in boxes and wooden crates as required.

Status: This is a full-time; hourly position
Hours: Monday - Wednesday: 3:15pm - 3:45am & Thursday: 3:15pm - 7:45pm; overtime as needed

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for working together with other cell employees to cut, blunt, drill, and assemble bronze markers and drill bases.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

• Load and unload saws with an overhead crane.
• Review production tickets to determine cuts that are necessary for the stone.
• Review work to ensure it meets production ticket specifications before and after cutting.
• Level and square stone on saw bed.
• Index the saw blade to the correct size and dimension based upon the stone being cut.
• Brace and wedge stone to prevent it from moving while it is being cut.
• Apply patterns and layout stone to best utilize raw stone material.
• Load pre-programmed profiles from the network and input manual cuts as needed.
• Operate saw according to layout and order specifications for both straight and angle cuts.
• Reattach slab labels or label each slab after cuts have been completed.
• Scan bar code on production tickets to record work performed in JDE system.
• Inspect granite stone for defects before and after each process step to ensure it meets quality standards
• Drill holes for the bronze memorial plate into the granite marker as specified by production ticket.
• Use a handheld banding machine to package memorial markers with the appropriate shipping material.
• Use of overhead crane to palletize and organize memorial markers by shipping carrier and shipping date
• Band and organize finished pallets.
• Coordinate with shipping department to ensure the product is shipped in the most cost-effective manner.
• Prepare product packaging by assembling cardboard boxes and building wooden crates using a band saw, nail gun and cardboard stapler.

Requirements

• Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, to avoid interruptions in production.
• Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision.
• Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills, with an emphasis in time management, improving efficiencies and exercising independent judgment to determine work priority and urgency.
• Mechanically inclined.
• General math skills.
• Must be able to read work orders or production tickets, which may include dimensional drawings.
• Ability to read a tape measure, imperial and metric.
• Work as a self-motivated team member who adheres to all safety protocols and is willing to cross-train as needed.
