Job summary

Savvyherb is seeking a Manufacturing Specialist to support hemp product extraction and manufacturing processes. You will train associates, maintain a safe work environment, and perform tasks across production areas following work order specifications.

You will collaborate in a team to meet department goals, ensure cleanliness, and uphold GMP/GDP standards. This role requires physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds, and contributes to a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED requirement.
• 1-3 years' experience within cannabinoid extraction or production manufacturing.
• 1-2 years experience with production equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train associates and support Supervisor in executing the training plan.
• Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to GMP/GDP trainings.
• Perform multiple production tasks across areas such as extraction, sanitation, and batch planning.
• Operate and certify process equipment and follow SOPs.
• Update manufacturing logs, notes, and schedule changes daily.
• Assist with inventory counts and material requests as needed.

Job description

• The Manufacturing Specialist will be responsible for multiple processes related to hemp product extraction and manufacturing.
• Responsibilities include training associates, maintaining a safe work environment, and performing various tasks in production areas.

Summary

The Manufacturing Specialist will be reliable and demonstrate advanced skills to perform multiple processes relating to the extraction and manufacturing of quality hemp products following work order specifications. You will work within a team environment to meet departmental goals and maintain work area cleanliness.

• Meet all responsibilities of a Manufacturing Associate
• Cross-train in all operational areas (under direction from Supervisor)
• Act as a trainer for associates and support Supervisor developing and executing the training plan
• Assist in all production areas to meet the department's needs/goals
• Drive a culture of safety 1st and perform all duties in a safe manner
• Maintain a safe work environment for all employees
• Provide open and honest feedback to the team and leadership in a professional manner
• Communicate and be part of the solution on all issues in a proactive manner
• Certify and operate the dish washer following sanitation protocols, IPA Hemp Handling, IPA Extraction, CO2 Decarb, CO2 Extraction, Finished Product Production, Bulk Dilution, Sanitation, and CIP Skid.
• Follow instructions and directions from the Supervisor
• Own an operational area and/or functional area (cleanliness, 5s, safety etc.)
• Identify equipment and process issues and work with lead and others to fix the issues (put on area issue list as needed)
• Take ownership of results in the specialized area (operational/functional)
• Basic NAV function
• Update Daily Manufacturing Notes in spreadsheet and board
• Perform PMs and Daily Checks as trained
• WIP (Work in Progress) room cleaning
• Coordinate with lead to Update and Change Schedule and Plan Batch
• Ensure daily checks are performed accurately including all logbooks
• Safety, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and GDP Trainings
• Assist with inventory counts
• Fulfillment of material requests needed to run
• Work and operate in the process area (where certified) without direct supervision
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-3 years' experience within either cannabinoid extraction or production manufacturing
• 1-2 years experience working and maintaining production equipment preferred

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong attention to detail
• Competency with ERP system is preferred
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Good planning, time management, and organizational skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365
• Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to pick up and lift up objects, sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, and twist. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
