Job summary

Savvyherb is seeking a Production Manager to oversee cannabis flower and infused products manufacturing, leading a team of Assistant Managers, Production Leads, and Specialists.

You will drive production schedules, manage inventory, and ensure strict quality, safety, GMP, and ISO compliance in a warehouse setting. This role requires passion for plant medicine and leadership in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 3+ years in manufacturing or cannabis production.
• 2+ years of management/supervisory experience in a regulated field with health and safety policies.
• Proficient use of ERP and inventory management software.
• Must be able to register with the state cannabis commission as an agent.

Job description

• The Production Manager oversees manufacturing operations for cannabis products, leads a team, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives productivity and profitability within the production department.
• Key responsibilities include managing production schedules, maintaining inventory, enforcing quality and safety standards (GMPs and ISO), coaching staff, and collaborating with maintenance and HR teams.
• Minimum qualifications require a high school diploma or equivalent, 3+ years in manufacturing or cannabis production, management experience in regulated environments, proficiency with ERP systems, and the ability to register as a cannabis agent; preferred qualifications include cannabis industry management and food production experience.
• The role demands physical stamina (standing most of the time, lifting up to 50 lbs, working at heights up to 25 ft) and the ability to work in a warehouse environment with exposure to mechanical parts, varying temperatures, and moderate noise.

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing of cannabis flower and infused products, as well as lead a team of Assistant Managers, Production Leads, and Specialists. Products can include dry flower and pre-rolls, infused topicals, tablets, beverages, and more.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee theoperationalmanagementand business activitiesof theproductiondepartmentin their assigned facility.
• Motivate production team by providing encouragement, being a servant leader, and giving constructive feedback.
• Responsible for driving theproductiondepartmentto achieve and surpass goals and objectives, that will maximize output and minimize cost resulting in higher profitability.
• Direct andimplement SOPs, methods, policies, objectives to advancetheirdepartment, and ensure continuing operations to increase productivity and guarantee regulatory compliance.
• Develop and meet the production schedule of manufactured goods.
• Assist facilityleadership in the development and execution ofthe facility production schedule.
• Maintainproductinventory levels based onsales forecast andproductionschedules.
• Ensure quality, safety, GMPs and ISO standards are followed.
• Monitor performance of equipment and machinery in collaboration withthemaintenance team.
• Provide coaching, guidance, and development opportunities Assistant Managers and Leads.
• Operate as an inclusive leader; engage all associates in a manner that supports company strategy and retention.
• Support inventory management of finished products and record batch numbers.
• Ensure that all QC/QA protocols are being followed and maintained.
• Follow and enforce all rules and regulations for food production, health and safety, and additional requirements set by the State and municipality in which we operate.
• Partnerwith HumanResourcesto effectively manage thedepartmentworkforce.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• 3+ year experience working in a manufacturing facility or within a commercial cannabis facility.
• 2+ year previous management/supervisory experience in a regulated field that adheres to health and safety policies and procedures required.
• Understands and is comfortable operating within six sigma and continuous improvement processes.
• Strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability,good judgment, initiative, attention to detail, drive for change, getting organizational support, building ownership and commitment, making though decisions and developing others.
• Proficient in the use of ERP and inventory management software.
• High attention to detail and is goal driven.
• Consistently goes above and beyond to ensure business needs are met.
• Ability to positively motivate and support teammates.
• Must be 21 years of age or older, and able to successfully register with the state’s cannabis commission as an agent.
• Must be able to comply with all laws, regulations, and policies associated with the industry.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 year(s) of management/supervisory experience in the cannabis industry preferred.
• Operations or performance improvement skill sets preferred.
• Previous experience in food production and manufacturing.

Physical and Mental Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 50 lb. Able to stand for 90% of the time. Comfortable with heights, occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to service the lights, filters, trellis netting and ceiling fans up to 25ft. Comfortable working atop and traversing scaffolding, when required. Comfortable with changing environment temperatures and humidity. Exposure to pollen, dust, dander, and other nature elements. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus. Work is performed in a warehouse environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.
