Job description

Manufacturing Shift Lead: $28.50, Day shift (8p-8a) 223 Schedule

Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Manufacturing Shift Lead to be based out of Fort Mill, SC. Reporting to the Production Manager, this person will be responsible for leading an assigned crew and making sure that the PVC pipe is manufactured on schedule and within the right specifications.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead shift and team members.
  • Ensure PVC pipe is manufactured per the production schedule.
  • Confirm that all products meet specifications and that all required quality tests are performed.
  • Examine operator paperwork to ensure that it is complete and correct.
  • Review QC/QA forms to confirm that they have been completed accurately and correctly.
  • Inspect the integrity and performance of the production systems.
  • Recruit, train, and develop crew members.
  • Optimize utilization of employees and equipment.
  • Understand computerized systems associated with the extrusion, control, and printing technologies used in our facility.
  • Obtain production efficiencies by developing a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Promote a safe working environment and enforce safety rules and procedures.
  • All other assigned duties.

What you’ll bring:

  • Minimum educational requirement is high school diploma, or equivalent.
  • Previous PVC Manufacturing experience, highly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good understanding of basic math required for quick and accurate counting and calculations.
  • Previous managerial experience, preferred.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Basic computer skills, timekeeping and scheduling experience.
  • Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner.
  • Must be able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.

Within 3 months, you’ll:

  • Complete any required training.
  • Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.
  • Be well-versed in Atkore’s Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $28.50. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
