Job summary

Madden Bolt Corporation in Houston, TX seeks a Senior Accountant to own core general ledger, monthly/quarterly closes, and inventory costing. You will partner with operations to improve controls and help transition from QuickBooks to an integrated ERP system.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in manufacturing accounting, strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills. This role offers a path to enhanced financial visibility and process improvements across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Manufacturing accounting experience with inventory, costing, or WIP.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal-control fundamentals.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze large data sets.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with accounting, operations, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Support the Controller in monthly, quarterly, and annual close; prepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger and produce accurate financial statements and management reporting.
• Own or support inventory accounting, cycle-count reconciliations, standard costing, and job costing.
• Partner with plant/operations to investigate variances and improve financial visibility.
• Prepare balance-sheet reconciliations and maintain audit-ready workpapers.
• Assist with cash reporting, fixed assets, A/P and A/R oversight.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting, and ad hoc analysis.
• Strengthen internal controls and SOPs across accounting processes.
• Assist external auditors and tax advisors with documentation.
• Help prepare for ERP implementation and data standardization.
