Job summary

Connectly Recruiting is seeking a Business Segment Controller for a Fortune 500 electronics manufacturer in New York. This site finance lead partners with the business unit manager and oversees financial reporting, budgets, forecasts, and compliance with US GAAP and SOX in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include month-end close, product costing, inventory management, working capital optimization, and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or Master’s degree preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive manufacturing accounting and finance experience.
• 3–5 years of leadership or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, US GAAP, ASC 606, and SOX 404.
• Product cost accounting, inventory management, and working capital optimization.
• Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Oracle, HFM, and Power BI preferred.
• Public company and M&A experience preferred.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Budgets & forecasts, analyzing revenue, profitability, expenses, and working capital.
• Monitor KPIs, improve productivity, reduce costs, and support product development.
• Oversee product costing, inventory valuation, physical counts, and excess and obsolete inventory reserves.
• Drive working capital improvements across accounts receivable, inventory, accounts payable, and other operating accounts.
• Evaluate capital expenditures & prepare financial analyses, inc: NPV calculations.
• Compliance with US GAAP, SOX requirements, internal controls, & company policies.
• Support internal and external audits and divisional reporting requirements.
