Job summary

Beckman Coulter Diagnostics in Minnesota is seeking a Manufacturing Scientist II to support daily production needs in a Reagent manufacturing cell. You will handle in-process/pre/post fill testing, BOM maintenance, and SOP updates to comply with quality systems standards.

This on-site role reports to the Manager of Manufacturing Science and offers a comprehensive benefits package with salary between $75,000 and $90,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonus and incentives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, chemistry, or biology with 2+ years of industry experience or a Master’s degree.
  • Experience in a regulated industry (FDA, ISO) preferred.
  • Technical understanding of biochemical/immunoassay processes and data interpretation.
  • Ability to discuss technical concepts with diverse audiences.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Windows OS.

  • Lead cross-department teams to resolve non-conforming issues.
  • Assess processes and implement improvements for performance, quality, and cost.

Manufacturing Scientist II

for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for supporting the daily production needs of a Reagent manufacturing work cell. This includes investigation and resolution of assay failures during in-process/pre/post fill reagent testing, maintenance of bills of materials and material specification changes due to new material qualification or supplier changes and updating/correcting SOPs in compliance with current quality system standards. There will be opportunities to tackle problems to keep reagents moving through the value stream to serve our customers with high-quality finished goods.

This position reports to the Manager, Manufacturing Science and is part of the Technical Operations group located in Chaska, Minnesota and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Provide technical expertise and direction in multiple Immunoassay manufacturing areas.
  • Lead multi-department teams to support/resolve non-conforming issues for existing products.
  • Assess manufacturing processes and systems, and implement improvements aimed at performance, quality, and cost.
  • Communicate investigation status reports, proposals for further investigation, etc., via oral and written reports; Develop and implement changes to existing documentation in a timely manner.
  • Solve immunoassay testing and manufacturing issues as they arise.
The essential requirements of the job include:
  • Biochemistry, chemistry, or biology (or related field) Bachelors degree with 2+ years of industry experience or Masters degree
  • Experience in a regulated industry preferred (e.g. FDA, ISO)
  • Technical understanding of biochemical/immunoassay processes and experience analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Experience discussing technical concepts with a diverse audience, including experts and non-experts.
  • Extensive knowledge with Microsoft applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and the basic Windows operating system.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Manufacturing of biologicals or pharmaceuticals.

The annual salary range for this role is $75K-$90K.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
