Job summary

Sigma is seeking a Sanitation Supervisor to lead the daily cleaning and sanitation of plant production equipment and facilities. You will develop the sanitation team while ensuring a safe, clean, and food-safe environment that supports efficient production and quality standards.

The role requires leadership experience with sanitation knowledge and a commitment to food safety, GMPs, and SQF standards. Overnight shifts, weekends, and varied schedules may be required in a manufacturing setting.

Job description

The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily cleaning and sanitation of plant production equipment and facility operations. This role leads and develops the sanitation team while ensuring a safe, clean, and food-safe environment that supports efficient production and quality standards.

Salary Range DOE: $79,473 - $99,349

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, train, coach, develop, and evaluate sanitation team members.
• Oversee daily sanitation activities for production equipment and facility areas.
• Conduct safety audits, participate in safety meetings, and address unsafe conditions.
• Complete and maintain accurate production and employee reporting, including timesheets.
• Troubleshoot sanitation issues and implement effective solutions.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives and a quality-first culture.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and operational standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• One year of sanitation experience.
• One year of leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of sanitation experience.
• Two or more years of leadership experience.
• Bilingual skills.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, including HACCP, GMPs, SOPs, SSOPs, and SQF standards.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Work Environment

• Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and various shift schedules as needed.
• Exposure to temperature-controlled and production environments.
• Frequent interaction with manufacturing equipment, sanitation chemicals, and warehouse or production noise levels.

Physical Requirements

• Regular standing, walking, and repetitive use of hands and fingers.
• Frequent reaching and movement throughout the facility.
• Occasional bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Ability to lift at least 10 pounds.
• Ability to perform visual tasks requiring close vision, depth perception, color recognition, and focus.
