Job summary

IFAB Corp. in Gastonia, NC is seeking a Safety Specialist to support workplace safety, compliance, and environmental efforts in a first-shift manufacturing operation.

You will partner with production, maintenance, quality, and leadership to reduce injuries, lead safety committees, conduct audits, and manage incident investigations and workers’ compensation follow-up. Requirements include an associate or bachelor’s degree in safety or a related field and 3–5 years of manufacturing safety

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of manufacturing safety experience.
• Working knowledge of OSHA requirements.
• Experience with incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Experience supporting workers' compensation follow-up.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support safety program administration and continuous improvement.
• Conduct inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and follow-up activities.
• Identify unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions.
• Assist with incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Manage workers' compensation follow-up including return-to-work coordination.
• Maintain safety records, training documentation, incident logs, and compliance files.
• Lead safety committees and engage safety champions.
• Coordinate OSHA compliance activities and recordkeeping.
• Deliver safety orientation and toolbox talks.
• Support core safety programs such as lockout/tagout, PPE, and hazard communication.
